Stratford’s new Zoning and Development Bylaw passed first reading at Council’s monthly meeting Wednesday night.
One highlight from the new bylaw is it allows for more diversity in housing in the town — smaller lot sizes, and a new allowance for secondary suites.
Also included in the new bylaw is allowing for cannabis retail operations; digital reader board signage; new election signage provisions; more defined child care uses; and new agricultural-related uses.

A Special Council Meeting will be held next Wednesday to hold second reading and potential adoption of the bylaw.
