The strong winds Wednesday are creating some issues with travel to and from PEI.
There have been traffic restrictions in place on the Confederation Bridge, and for a period of time in the morning, the Bridge was closed to all traffic. It’s best to check ahead on the Bridge’s status before traveling as the 100kh wind gusts are to persist throughout the day.
Northumberland Ferries had announced Tuesday that it was cancelling all of Wednesday’s scheduled sailings. It has also cancelled Thursday’s 6:30am and 11:15am crossings from Wood Islands, and the 8:00am and 1:00pm crossings from Caribou. A decision will be made Thursday morning regarding later crossings.
