The Native Council of PEI says it’s disappointed with the Province’s Poverty Reduction Action Plan.
Native Council President and Chief Lisa Cooper says she’s disheartened by a lack of initiatives relating to off-reserve Aboriginal people and their needs.
Cooper says there was collaboration between the Native Council and province in the plan’s design, but she sees a lack of action items in the plan aimed specifically at bridging the socioeconomic gaps some off-reserve Aboriginal people in PEI face.
