In a fiscal update Wednesday, the Province suggested it’s in a strong financial position due to a strong economy and responsible spending.
Government says it ended the 2017-2018 fiscal year with a surplus of $75.2 million.
In crediting a strong economy, Premier Wade MacLauchlan says
there are 6,600 new full-time jobs since 2016 and the province’s overall economy has grown from $6 billion in 2015 to $7 billion in 2018.
The province adds that its net debt will decrease for the first time since 2007.
