P-E-I has marked the 25th anniversary of what is known as the “famous five.”
Five women held five key spots in government in 1993 _ Premier Catherine Callbeck, as well as the lieutenant-governor Marion Reid, Speaker Nancy Guptill, Deputy Speaker Libbe Hubley and leader of the Official Opposition, Pat Mella.
More than 100 people gathered Tuesday at UPEI to celebrate the milestone.
They also noted that it has not been repeated since.
