Members of the Autism Society of PEI recently visited the Queens District RCMP and met with officers.
The visit served two purposes; to provide an opportunity for the youth to meet real police officers so they are familiar with exactly what uniforms look like, and for officers to learn first-hand what some of the unique interactions/considerations might be when dealing with someone on the autism spectrum.
