In recent months, Downtown Charlottetown Inc has been leading an effort looking at the possibility of creating a new space for the Charlottetown Library.
It would be a move to the ground floor of the Dominion building across the street.
The new, expanded, 40,000 square foot, fully accessible space would become a state-of-the-art Library Learning Centre, much like the new Rotary Library in Summerside.
The Province and Confederation Centre of the Arts support the idea.
