A man who drove onto the runway and damaged property at the Charlottetown Airport has been sentenced to nine months in jail and is banned from driving for two years following his release.
In July, 35-year-old Matthew David Joseph Carter drove his car through the chain fence surrounding the airport.
Judge Nancy Orr says his actions could have proved catastrophic because a plane landed just 13 minutes after police responded.
Carter admitted to being impaired by drugs at the time, but denies being suicidal.
