It was a young and excited crowd that helped in Thursday’s official unveiling of the universally accessible Canadian Tire Jumpstart Playground in Victoria Park.
It’s one of four opening across Canada this year thanks to Canadian Tire Jumpstart’s “Play Finds A Way” movement, which is a five year, $50-million fundraising commitment from Canadian Tire that focuses on accessible playgrounds.
Summerside’s Billy Bridges, a Paralympic medalist, took part in Thursday’s ceremony, and spoke of the opportunities the playground presents for not only children with disabilities, but also parents with disabilities.
