A parent information session on cannabis use was held Tuesday night at Charlottetown Rural – organized by the Rural, Colonel Gray and Bluefield, and police.
One week from today, recreational cannabis becomes legal for those 19-plus. And while nothing will change legally for those under 19, Charlottetown Police Constable Tim Keizer says parents need to be proactive and talk with their children about cannabis use and its effects — the effects on their mental, physical, and brain health.
Tuesday night’s session stressed the importance for parents to have meaningful conversations with their children about cannabis use. Parents need to be informed, and keep their children informed.
On Monday, October 29th, another session will be held hosted by Three Oaks in Summerside. It begins at 6.30 that evening.
Another session to be held on Thursday, November 22nd at Westisle Composite for parents during the evening.
Assemblies will be held for students at Westisle, Hernewood Intermediate and ME Callaghan during the day on November 22nd.
