Angry dairy farmers confronted Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay in Pooles Corner at a news conference that was supposed to announce federal and provincial funding for road improvements.
MacAulay, the MP for Cardigan was drowned out by about 150 dairy farmers who upset about the recent new Mexico-USA-Canada trade agreement that will have a seroius affect on Canada’s milk products.
MacAulay was constantly drowned out by the dairy farmers who took to the stage at Kaylee Hall once the minister was done and gave their own testimonials on how they will be affected.
The federal government has promised compensation for dairy farmers over the new trade deal.
MacAulay says he understands their anger being a dairy farmer himself.
