Statistics Canada says the country’s job market bounced back last month with a gain of 63-thousand positions, edging the national unemployment rate lower to 5.9 per cent.
The agency says September’s increase in employment was largely driven by gains in part-time work, with part-time jobs up by around 80-thousand.
PEI’s unemployment rate was 8.7% in September, down from August’s 9.3 per cent.
