Premier Wade MacLauchlan issued a statement Monday regarding the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement that was reached Sunday night.
He says his government remains concerned about any potential impact the deal would have on the dairy industry.
The Premier met Monday with senior officials and the ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries, Finance, and Economic Development and Tourism. He say the province has encouraged the federal government to act quickly to put in place adjustment programs and resources to ensure that any negative impacts on Island dairy producers or processors are mitigated.
