Today marks he 15th anniversary of Hurricane Juan that hit the Island on September 29th, 2003.
Juan also hit Halifax and Truro causing massive damage on its way toward Charlottetown and parts of Queens County.
Major damage to boats was done at the Charlottetown Yacht Club as the storm passed over at 3 a.m.
Homes and vehicles were damaged as large trees came down throughout the city.
The arrival of Juan helped improve emergency preparedness on the Island.
There was not much warning about the hurricane until it hit.
Ghost of Florence
Meantime, heavy rain and strong winds have taken their toll across the Maritimes with the remains of former Hurricane Florence still bringing large amounts of rain to the region.
It’s being calledthe Ghost of Florence and dumped 31 mm of rain on Charlottetown yesterday.
Over 100 mm of rain in the past week in many locales.
