The province is pointing to progress in making early learning and child care more accessible to Island families.
The Department of Education and Early Learning says 358 new child-care spaces have opened over the past six months. 50 new spaces opened earlier this month at an early childhood centre in Bloomfield.
The PEI Action Plan for Children, which aims to expand access to early learning and child care, was launched in August 2017 and is supported by federal funding of $10.5 million over three years.
