Charlottetown firefighters responded to a fire at A&S Scrap Metal off the Sherwood Road Monday morning. The call came in shortly before 8:00am, when the fire broke out in the bales of scrap material in the business’ yard.
Fire Chief Randy MacDonald says no buildings were threatened with the fire, but putting it out has been a challenge. He says it’s been very labour intensive as they move the large bales to get at the ones on fire.
He says they’re still investigating the cause. There were no injuries.
