Full-time employment on the Island is at an all time high. Monthly labour numbers released Friday by Stats Canada show full-time employment in August was up to 64,100 people. The unemployment rate last month dropped down a couple of notches from the month before, going from 9.5 percent in July to 9.3 percent in August.
Workforce and Advanced Learning Minister Sonny Gallant says there are 3,100 more people working full time than there were last year at this time and there are 5,500 more full time jobs in the province since September 2016.
Job seekers on the Island can expand their training though one of many programs available at Skills PEI. For those interested in learning more about all the various options, visit the Skills PEI website at www.skillspei.com
