School is back in session Thursday for Island students as they start a new school year.
Allow for some extra time this morning as you’ll see more traffic than you have as school buses are back on the road.
Police across the island are asking drivers to slow down, especially in school zones; stop for school buses with their lights flashing; and be aware of students walking roadside.
The Province says students will see some changes and new resources as they go back to class.
In English, new curriculum is being introduced this year in grade 9 science, grades 10-12 language arts, secondary technical education, and several other areas.
French first-language students will have new curriculum in Canadian history and environmental studies, as well as new math and science courses
