Yesterday’s heavy downpour caused cancellation of the Harvest Festival Parade in Kensington for the first time in 51 years.
There will be no rain date for the parade.There plenty of flooded streets in and around Charlottetown.
Charlottetown Police had to block off Edward St. at Grafton in the east end of the city and Connolly and Valley Streets due to localized flooding.The Victoria Park roadway was flooded for the second time in just over a week but was passable around the perimeter of the park.

There was a build up of water below the underpass on the Charlottetown bypass and flooding in the dip on St.Peters Road by Wright’s Pond in East Royalty.
Also flooding on Mount Edward Road near the Mount and UPEI.
Run off from the Cornwall Bypass project was seen going into the Clyde River.
Police were asking motorists to use caution in all areas.
There were 53 mm of rain recorded in Charlottetown and East Point.
42 mm at St. Peter’s Bay and 38 mm in Summerside.
14 mm was recorded at North Cape as West Prince was spared of the heavy downpours.
