The afternoon card of Old Home Week racing at Red Shores in Charlottetown is still scheduled for 1.00 this afternoon has been re-scheduled for Sunday at 1.00.
That’s due to heavy rain forecast today. 30-40 mm of rain is expected today but they heavy rain should taper off late this evening.
The evening card that will feature the 59th Gold Cup & Saucer is still scheduled to begin at 7.00. There are 14 dashes on the card including the finale around midnight.
Sunday’s card of racing has 10 dashes including the Joe O’Brien Memorial for 3 year old colts at the grassroots level.
GOLD CUP & SAUCER PREVIEW
The 59th Guardian Gold Cup & Saucer is scheduled for around midnight tonight at Red Shores in Charlottetown.
There are eight starters including the favourite, Rockin In Heaven leaving off the rail with driver J Harris.
Trial winners Somewhere Fancy and Bet on Brett will factor in the big race that goes for a purse of $60,000.
Marc Campbell has Rose Run Quest leaving second.
Anthony MacDonald will behind Lincolnjames leaving eighth.
