Wildlife officials believe strict regulations protecting migratory birds were broken last Tuesday night in Alberton Harbour.
They say that at about 6:30, a red and charcoal Sea-Doo was driven by a young man into a flock of birds, hitting a Northern Gannet. A dead Northern Gannett was found floating in the area shortly after.
A second Sea-Doo involved in the incident was white in colour and was also driven by a young man.
Regulations prohibit hunting or chasing migratory birds in any way without proper authority.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Wildlife Enforcement Directorate at 902-407-8281.
