The province reports that while tourism numbers in June were strong, the poor weather did translate into a drop in some numbers.
Tourism Minister Chris Palmer says June was one of the worst months on record weatherwise, but the Confederation Bridge, Charlottetown Airport, and Northumberland Ferries all reported traffic close to par with last June.
But, accommodations did see a drop in demand. Total overnight stays dropped 5.4 percent compared to last June, and are 1.6 percent behind 2017’s record year-to-date numbers.
