PEI farmers need some rain and lots of it.
There have been only 13 mm of rain in July which is well down from the average of 80 mm.
The hot spell has produced little precipitation this month.
Robert Godfrey of the PEI Federation of Agriculture says a steady and consistent amount of rain is need or many farmer will be facing a crisis with their crops.
