Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay says Canadian farmers shouldn’t panic about an escalating trade war with the United States.
Following a Vancouver conference with his provincial and territorial counterparts, MacAulay, the MP for Cardigan says there’s a framework in place through the three-billion-dollar Canadian Agricultural Partnership to help farmers manage risks and deal with problems.
He emphasized the importance of the provinces working together, a sentiment echoed by B-C Agriculture Minister Lana Popham, who says the provinces stand as one voice, as Canada, in the context of the trade war.
