The new universally accessible playground in Victoria Park is expected to open in the fall.
Construction is set to begin Monday on the joint venture between the City of Charlottetown and the Canadian Tire Jumpstart’s Inclusive Playground Project initiative.
Two pieces of older equipment have already been removed to accommodate for the new accessible playground. The existing play structures and splash pad are not expected to be impacted by the construction and will remain open to the public.
With the site setup and groundwork commencing, fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the playground site and staging area. Temporary road closures on Victoria Park Roadway may be in place on Monday.
