Faster internet service is being set up for rural areas of PEI.
The provincial government says it will issue a request for proposals next month for a company or companies to help enhance internet service in the province’s rural areas.
The Request for Proposals will require that internet speeds for 90 percent of Island homes meet or exceed the CRTC’s objective by the end of 2021. That objective is to provide 50 mega bits per second for downloads and 10 for uploads.
