The federal Fisheries minister says the environmental review of the effluent pipe from Northern Pulp into the Northumberland Strait will remain in the hands of Nova Scotia.
The PEI government suggested last week that Ottawa should play a role in a review of the plan to pipe the waste from the paper mill into the strait.
But Fisheries Minister Dominic LeBlanc says he considers the provincial process in Nova Scotia to be “robust” and it is Nova Scotia’s jurisdiction.
