The PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women has given the province a grade of “B-” in its 2018 Equality Report Card released Wednesday.
The grade was based on a review of 9 categories.
The grade of B– is the highest grade for government since 2011.
In regards to progress, the report points to the establishment of the Women’s Wellness Centre and sexual health services for all genders. It also says the Province has achieved gender parity on applications and appointments to Engage PEI agencies, boards, and commissions.
On the negative side, it says government needs to do a lot more to address poverty.
