A new initiative being introduced here in PEI is aimed at helping to expand perennial crops such as apples, high bush blueberries, and grapes. Agriculture Minister Robert Henderson says the Perennial Crop Development Program will help support innovations in production and storage practices. Eligible expenses include the purchase of capital equipment and the adoption of leading edge technologies, up to a maximum of 40-thousand dollars per project.
