The U-S secretary of agriculture says his administration is not pushing for Canada to do away with its supply management system.
Sonny Perdue made the comments after meeting with federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay at MacAulay’s dairy farm in Midgell.
Perdue says the two countries benefit from open markets across the border despite a deepening feud between the U-S and Canada over tariffs and free trade. But, he says he would like to see the system regulated in a way that does not depress world prices.
