TITAN & PATS IN MEMORIAL CUP FINAL
The host Regina Pats will play the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Memorial Cup final on Sunday. The Pats dropped the Hamilton Bulldogs, 4-2 in the semi-final.
Regina’s Sam Steel scored a controversial goal late in the 3rd to put the Pats up 3-2 Regina’s Nick Henry made contact with the Bulldogs goalie taking him out of the play just before Steel scored with 5.55 left.
The Pats iced it with an empty netter.

Another day to tune-up for the Stanley Cup final.
The Washington Capitals open the finals in Las Vegas on Monday night. The Golden Knights are favoured to win the opener.
Knights head coach Gerard Gallant says Washington has a good line-up. He says they’ll have to pay special attention to Alex Ovechin who has been a hot scorer in the post season.

Sam Gaviligio tossed his 2nd win of the season as the Toronto Blue Jays held off the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5 to open a road trip. Justin Smoak homered.
The Jays went 1-6 during their last homestand.
J.D. Martinez, Xavier Bogaerts, Mookie Betts and Mitch Moreland all homered as the 1st place Boston Red Sox beat Atlanta, 6-2. Boston has also designated veteran slugger Hanley Ramirez for assignment. The 34 year old was hitting only .143 in May.
Gleyber Torres homered in the 9th to help New York trim the Los Angeles Angeles, 2-1.
Baltimore blanked Tampa Bay, 4-0 behind the 4-hitter of rookie pitcher David Hess.
Houston scored 11 runs in the last two innings including 7 in the 9th to topple Cleveland, 11-2.
Jose Altuve sparked th uprising with a 2 run double and the go ahead run.
