An Opposition bill amending the Employment Standards Act to allow three days paid leave for survivors of domestic, intimate and sexual violence has passed second reading in the Legislature.
It did so as the Opposition received a little help from former NHL star and public health advocate Theo Fleury. Fleury went on the floor to share his own personal experience with abuse and advocate for the legislation.
An amendment from government to add seven days of unpaid leave also passed unanimously.
