As keynote speaker at a Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Monday, Cavendish Farms President Robert Irving continued the push for an end to the moratorium on new high-capacity agricultural wells.
Irving says that supplemental irrigation is needed for PEI farmers to remain competitive with their yields.
He says the low rainfall levels in 2017 forced Cavendish Farms to import potatoes, which Irving says is not sustainable business.
