Both the Charlottetown Fire Department and sailors from HMCS Queen Charlotte were involved in a rescue of yacht that began to sink in the mouth of the Charlottetown Harbour on Wednesday evening.
The 35 foot yacht began taking on water just before 8.00 two nights ago near Fort Amherst.
15 people were on board.
The sailors were on a training exercise and got to yacht and rescued six people. Nine others were clinging to the sinking vessel.
Charlottetown Deputy Fire Chief Tim Mayme says one man had to be taken to the QEH with mild hypothermia.
The owner of the yacht is Robert Gale who was on board along with 14 friends.
The yacht was towed back to shore and lifted from the water last night.
