Funeral services for Chris Leclair are being held today as the music community across PEI mourns the loss of one of its own.
51 year-old Leclair was a mainstay in the live music scene for the last 35 plus years, having performed since his teenage years in bands such as Curfew up to his days as an adult and father in groups such as Muddy Buddy.
Known to many as just “Lixxy”, Leclair was an accomplished guitar player, singer, private music teacher, and choir director who could often be seen giving of his time and talent to many causes and sporting events, where he also coached many teams. He passed away April 29th after a valiant battle with cancer.
Lixxy is survived by his wife Anita, sons Tristan and Stephan, daughter Jordan, his parents, a brother and extended family.
Funeral service and remembrance is being held this evening at 6 o’clock at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Charlottetown. A Musicians Scholarship Fund is being established in memory of Chris Leclair.
