Fisheries and Oceans Minister Dominic LeBlanc says the level of the water submerging parts of southern New Brunswick and the amount of damage it’s causing is unprecedented.
LeBlanc surveyed parts of the flood zone by helicopter yesterday, giving him a top-down view of the situation.
Officials are telling people in at-risk areas to strongly consider evacuation before they become isolated by the deluge.
About 360 households, consisting of roughly 850 people, have registered with the Red Cross, however, not all of them have evacuated
Several PEI trucking companies being affected by the flooding with detours up to 1-2 hours.
They must keep moving due to fresh seafood and produce being shipped to the mainland.
