CUPE members on PEI are sending a clear message to the Liberal government to proclaim a bill which was passed in the legislature last December and given royal assent.
Along with opposition MLA’s, the PEI Federation of Labour, the PEI Health Coalition, the PEI Nurses Union and many others, CUPE PEI is calling for Bill 102 to be proclaimed immediately.
CUPE says without the proclamation in the house, Bill 102 cannot be enacted and could be in jeapardy if rumours of a snap election call are true.
The coalition has called a press conference for next Tuesday to air their concern. It’s taking place at 11 a.m. at the CUPE PEI Office at 26 Paramount Street in Charlottetown.
