The Sherwood Metros are Island Jr. C hockey champions with a 7-0 shutout over the Tignish Aces in the seventh and deciding game of the finals at the Cody Banks Arena. Blake Arsenault made 32 saves to record the shutout. Brandon Sullivan scored twice.
The Metros will begin the Maritime-North Jr. C Championship in Crapaud on Wednesday facing Baffin Island. The host South Side Lynx will play New Brunswick in their opener.

It’s by far the biggest game of the season for the Charlottetown Islanders as they play Game 4 of the first round playoff series with the Quebec Remparts at the Eastlink Centre at 7.00. The Remparts hold a 2-1 advantage after three games and have limited the Isles to just 2 goals winning the last two. The Islanders need a win to even the series.

The Island Jr. B semi-finals move to Game 6 tonight in Kensington as the Vipers host the Sherwood Metros. Kensington is up 3-2. Game time is 7.00. The winner plays the Western Red Wings in the finals.

The Mid Isle Wildcats play the Western Warriors at 10 this morning and the Northern Subway Selects at 4.30 in Mount Pearl, N-L in the Midget Female Atlantics. The Island champs are 0-1.
The Atlantic Open Judo Championship is on at Credit Union Place in Summerside and there is no charge for admission for the event.
