The Charlottetown Islanders made a huge comeback down 4-0 in the first period on their way to a 5-4 overtime victory facing the Maritime leading Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Q.
A three goal third was the difference including two from Derek Gentile.
Cameron Askew connected on the game winner at 1.54 in overtime. Goalie Matthew Welsh picked up his 30th win which is a team record.
The Titan earned a point to maintain their one point lead on Halifax for first in the division. First place will be decided in Halifax this evening as the Moosheads host the Titan on the last day of the regular season.
Halifax dropped Moncton, 7-4 and Cape Breton got by last place Saint John, 3-2.

The Acadia Axemen are out of the running at the University Cup in Fredericton losing 8-6 to the Alberta Golden Bears in the quarter-finals.
Saskatchewan advanced with a 4-1 win over McGill.
The semi’s go today with St. F.X. playing UNB and Alberta plays Saskatchewan.

The Central Attack evened the set winning 4-2 over the Prince County Warriors.

The Mid Isle Wildcats will represent PEI in the Midget Female Atlantics in Mount Pearl, NL after wining the Dalziel Cup. They blanked Kings County Kings, 1-0 to win the Island final, 3-1.

The Toronto Blue Jays held off Philadelphia, 6-4 in pre-season baseball.

Houston got by the Yankees, 4-1.
Josh Donaldson singled in three at bats for the Jays on Friday in his first spring appearance. He says a cramp in his calf is a non issue.
The Jays got bad news. Outfield prospect Anthony Alford is out 3-6 weeks with a strained ham string.
And pitching prospect Thomas Pannone has been suspended for 80 games for using a banned substance (a steroid taken orally) which he denies taking or having any knowledge of what happened.
