All classes were cancelled for the day Wednesday in the Westisle, Three Oaks, Kensington, and Kinkora Families of schools. That’s because the western end of the province was hit harder by the overnight storm with heavy snow and strong winds. All other families of schools operated on a one hour delay. The French schools in Summerside, Evangeline and Deblois were closed for the day. There was a one hour delay for the other French Language School Board schools.
Holland College’s Alberton and Summerside campuses were closed for the day, while Charlottetown and Georgetown campuses were delayed opening until 10:30am.
Maritime Electric reported a few individual outages, but no significant power outages Wednesday morning.
They had approximately 6100 customers out Tuesday night in eastern PEI. Crews restored the power about 3:30 am.
