We’re two days into Daylight Savings Time and many Islanders are feeling jetlegged after losing an hour of sleep when the clocks sprung forward.
One Cornwall father who’s tired of that feeling has started a petition to make DST the norm year round.
Corey Frizzell says because Daylight Savings Time makes up 8 months out of the year, it just makes sense to keep it that way for the other four.
Frizzell says he really started thinking about it when he found out the state of Florida recently voted in favour of a similar change.
Frizzell’s petition went online Monday and within 24 hours there were 100 signatures, with the number still rising.
He says he’ll get as many signatures as possible before presenting it to the provincial government. Time zones are a provincial government responsibility in Canada
You can find the petition online at www.change.org and search “PEI Daylight Saving Time (DST) Petition”.
