Two fatal crashes in PEI within a 14 hour period Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first was at about 4:50 Tuesday afternoon on Route 16 in East Point.
The driver in the single vehicle accident, a 71 year-old man from the Kings County area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the investigation is continuing, the RCMP says road conditions were clear and dry and were not a factor in the collision.
Then, a 53 year-old East Bideford woman was the victim of a single vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on Route 2 in Inverness.
East Prince RCMP say the accident happened around 6:20 am when the woman’s vehicle left the highway and struck a power pole. She was ejected from the vehicle and later died as a result of her injuries.
A collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation.
