A traffic stop by Summerside Police early Saturday morning led to an impaired driving arrest. It was just before 3am when police pulled over a driver in the South Drive area after seeing the vehicle swerving on the roadway.
The driver, a 23 year old Miscouche area man, showed signs of having had alcohol and failed a roadside screening test.
He was then arrested and later provided samples of his breath in excess of the legal limit.
On Sunday night at about 10:30pm, Summerside Police got a call about a suspected impaired driver in the Water Street East area.
Police located the vehicle near Read’s Corner. After speaking with the driver, a 62 year old Summerside man, Police determined he was not impaired but was under a Canada-wide driving prohibition.
The man was arrested and later released from custody, and faces a date in court on a charge of driving while prohibited.
