Nova Scotia environment minister Iain Rankin says Islanders will be able to have their say about the Northern Pulp waste treatment proposal.
Rankin was responding to a letter from P-E-I Premier Wade MacLauchlan voicing concerns about the pulp mill’s plan to pump effluent into the Northumberland Strait.
Under Nova Scotia legislation, Northern Pulp must replace its effluent treatment plant by 2020.
