An update from the RCMP on Tuesday regarding Monday afternoon’s fatal crash in Bonshaw.
The Mounties say the victim was a man in his mid-twenties from the Crapaud area. He was driving the westbound vehicle along the Trans Canada Highway when it left the road and struck a tree. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger in the vehicle was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with injuries. She is currently in stable condition.
It happened about 3:40 pm, and the RCMP, North River Fire Department and Island EMS all responded to the scene.
The RCMP is continuing their investigation.
