The UPEI men’s and women’s teams began the second half with impressive wins.
The men’s Panthers edged 2nd place St. F.X., 3-2 in a shootout.
Cody Payne scored the only goal in the shootout and also scored in regulation.
Goalie Matt Mancina was the game star with 26 saves.
Acadia stopped Moncton, 7-4. Kyle Farrell with two goals.
The women’s Panthers were 6-0 winner at Mount Allision. Rachel Colle and Emma Weatherbie had two goals each. Megan Sullivan made 10 saves for the shutout.

Former Islander Daniel Sprong scored his first 2 goals of the season playing on a line with Sidney Crosby as Pittsburgh blanked the NY Islanders, 4-0. Crosby had a goal and three assists.
Another win for Gerard Gallant’s Las Vegas Golden Knights. They edged Chicago, 5-4. Reilly Smith had goal and 2 assists.
Ottawa got by San Jose, 6-5 in overtime on a Matt Duchene goal only 7 seconds into the extra period.
Winnipeg shaded Buffalo, 4-3.
