A petition tabled in the legislature Thursday calls for a plebiscite for residents of unincorporated areas on Three Rivers amalgamation.
Opposition MLA Steven Myers tabled the petition, which has 500 signatures.
Plebiscites were held earlier this week for residents in the municipalities of Montague, Cardigan and Brudenell. Those plebiscites saw the majority of those who voted, vote in favour of amalganmation.
But Myers called on Government to hear from the thousands of Islanders who live in the unincorporated areas.
Communities, Land and Environment Minister Robert Mitchell says his department has to hear from some other municipalities before deciding how to proceed, but he says government will hear from those residents in unincorporated areas.
