The UPEI women’s Panthers lost 86-82 at Cape Breton. Jenna Mae Ellsworth had 21 points. UPEI is 2-3.
The men’s Panthers took their 5th straight loss, 107-54 to the Capers. Dakelle Brooks had 11 points for UPEI.

The Charlottetown Islanders got by the first place Moncton Wild Cats, 3-2 in a shootout in the Q. Sam King scored the shootout winner. Charlottetown is just 4 points back of first place behind Moncton, Acadie-Bathurst and Halifax.
The Isles host the Sea Dogs at 3 this afternoon.
Halifax trimmed Cape Breton, 6-5 in a shootout. Acadie-Bathurst over Shawinigan, 3-1.

The Pictou County Crushers held on for a 4-3 win over the Summerside Western Capitals in the MHL.
3rd period power play goals from Brodie MacMillan and Jordan Spence rallied the Caps (7-9-1).

Toronto blanked the Canadiens, 6-0 with Freddy Anderson making 33 saves. Auston Matthews returned and scored twice. Montreal has 13 losses in 21 contests.
Edmonton lost 6-3 in Dallas. and has lost 13 of 20 games.
