The Mounties are stressing a safety-first message ahead of Halloween night, asking trick-or-treaters and those out driving Tuesday night to be extra cautious.
The RCMP is advising trick-or-treaters to follow a few basic safety tips…..trick or treat in well known and well-lit areas; wear a costume that can easily be seen at night; watch for cars pulling out of driveways and backing up; carry a flashlight; and have your treats inspected by an adult before you eat any of them.
For drivers, drive slowly and keep a keen eye on the roads for children crossing; and don’t wear costumes that interfere with your vision or ability to drive.
Most communities have a Halloween night curfew, and for most it’s 8:00pm. The RCMP says curfews will be enforced.
