The political parties are getting themselves prepared for an impending by-election in District 11 Charlottetown-Parkdale with last week’s resignation of Doug Currie.
The Liberal Party of PEI has set a date for its nomination for District 11.
The nomination meeting will be held next week, on Monday, October 30th.
The nomination will be held at Birchwood School with registration at 6:00 pm, and then the meeting will get underway at 7:00 pm.
Karla Bernard of Charlottetown has declared her intentions to seek the nomination for the Green Party in the by-election for District 11.
Bernard was named the Green Party Shadow Critic for Education last year.
The 40 year-old Island native holds her Bachelor of Education as well as her Masters in Education in Counselling. She has been an educator with the Public Schools Branch for the last 12 years.
